Priscilla Ahn @ Hotel Cafe

June 10th was my Bday and I was suppose to go see her Priscilla Ahn’s album release show at Hotel Cafe…but I flaked. I was too lazy to drive up there since I now work 8 hours again with 3 hours worth of traffic, not to mention I wake up at 6 every morning…so I was exhausted. Plus I heard it was sold out but luckily, someone on youtube had clips of the show. Her album can be found on itunes…but I’m rather disappointed that she did not record her Boob Song on it.

Now that I look at Priscilla Ahn some more…she looks like…the Korean actress Han Ga In.

Priscilla Ahn - June 10th at Hotel Cafe

Singer Priscilla Ahn was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania. She grew up singing in her school and church choirs, and later in coffee shops, bars, and music clubs around Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York City. After deciding to move out to the West coast Priscilla began establishing herself on the Los Angeles music scene, and became a fixture at LA’s Hotel Café where a fortuitous opening performance for singer Joshua Radin led to an invitation to open his entire U.S. tour. In 2006, Priscilla recorded and released a self-titled EP which began to win her fans such as influential deejay Nic Harcourt of LA’s KCRW. Priscilla Ahn featured her own original songs including “Rain” and “Dream,” the latter of which appeared in the DreamWorks film Disturbia. In 2007, Priscilla was signed by Blue Note Records and began recording her major label debut with producer Joey Waronker, which is planned for a Spring 2008 release. (imeem)
