the worst tequila ever is…

Jose Cuervo….it’s just bad. But let’s face it, cheap tequila isn’t something you enjoy for the taste…you chug it down for the buzz or cover it up in a lemon and lime slurpie. Nevertheless, Jose Cuervo still sucks whether you’re an 18 year old college student or a frat boy looking for a quick buzz at Cancun. Jose Cuervo lacks the characteristics tequila is known for and if anything, it tastes like bland rubbing alcohol…that’s golden.

What’s better? Tevado tequila…it’s as cheap as Jose Cuervo because the distillers don’t use a fancy bottle they can overprice their fire water with. You can go to a supermarket with your discount card and get about 4 bucks off the regular price, or you can just go to Bevmo, the happiest place in the world!!!…for a good deal. Also, Tevado tequila did win a gold medal at the 2007 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, so you can feel special. It also tastes better because it’s been aged in wooden oak barrels for two years and it’s been tripled distilled for a smoother drinking experience.

I used to hate tequila but ever since I took a Latin American Folklore class and did a project about it, it’s deep history made it more appealing. I can’t say I’m too much of an expert on tequila, but I do know about the goddess Mayahuel who is celebrated for bringing it to Latin America. I wish soju had a goddess…..that would be kind of cool, even if she was based on a hairy Korean bear.

You are right on the mark with Tevado Tequila. Great for shots and margaritas. In addition to the SF Gold Medal, the brand won a 92 point rating, exceptional from tastings.com.

But most importantly, it won the best buy award! I think the bottle and packaging fit their brand advertising - Smooth & Clean.

    Check it out….. http://www.tastings.com/search_spirits.lasso
