Veteran Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-wai’s latest offering “My Blueberry Nights” is likely to hit mainland screens at the end of December, according to the movie’s producer Shanghai Film Group Corp.
“During the National Day holiday we had a talk with director Wong to check the film’s distribution and screening schedule,” said Wang Tianyu, vice president of Shanghai Film Group Corp.
Wang revealed that it should be a good timing for the movie as its dreamy romantic themes would conform to the festive ambience around the New Year.
As director Wong’s first full English-language feature, the movie stars Grammy Award-winner Norah Jones, Rachel Weisz, Jude Law and Natalie Portman. Set against New York’s magical cityscape and the vistas of America’s legendary Route 66, the romance centers on a young woman who sets out on an unforgettable journey of discovery in pursuit of true love. It also opened this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Wang said that the star-studded cast, including Jones and Law, would probably arrive in town to promote the film. However, the December screening also means that the movie faces box-office competition with Feng Xiaogang’s war epic “The Assembly” and Peter Chan’s action film “The Warlords.”
“I believe director Wong’s signature elegance and originality can guarantee the movie to enchant moviegoers, especially young lovers during that season,” said movie buff Li Wei, an IT salesman.

with Ingrid Hoffman on the Foodnetwork…a new home style cook representing Latin flavors. She was born in 1965 in the country of Colombia, and she’s quite fun to watch….ummm..cook. She has a deep Spanish accent in her English and has curves most Latinas are known for. If she said “Papi” every once in a while I think it would be….kind of nice, but I guess she is a bit too mature for that.

mmm…..tequila.
They had Peter, Stewie, and Quagmire give speeches at their graduation. I would’ve liked the Simpsons family to at least come to mine!
was born on 1969 in Texas. She is currently the host of Travel Channel’s Passport to South America and other hotel shows. For a woman her age, she is in great shape and quite the MILF. Not only does she have a great body….
she’s also very funny, smart, and has a voice I could listen to all day. She is neither indifferent or condescending in her attitude towards other cultures when she travels. When she knows her opinions are ignorant, she’s honest enough to admit that she’s not proud of them. Plus, she enjoys alcohol rather well and that’s hot. “How could something so wrong, feel sooo right?” (Drinking pina coladas at 10 a.m. in Belize).- Brown

Just when you thought you’d seen enough Japanese weirdness, something like the so-called “Cannibal Banquet” comes along to shock us anew. The photos pretty much say it all but I will comment anyway - hey, that’s what I do!
Here’s how the Cannibal Banquet works… a pinata-like “body” is carefully crafted, then stuffed with edible goodies in a red sauce. More “sauce” is somehow embedded into the outside covering - “skin” as it were - of the body so that it will appear to bleed when cut into. By this time, most of us would have lost our appetites, but I digress… Anyway, the prepared body (who appears to be wearing a wedding ring!) is wheeled into the dining room on a hospital gurney and a courteous host wielding a scalpel begins the operation. From the looks of it, plenty of alcoholic beverages are required to keep the patrons in the mood to chow down, cannibal style!
You know, I love Japan and even the more unsavory examples of weirdness I uncover just add spice to the culture’s charm. The Cannibal Banquet pushes the limits, though, and I have to wonder if the bizarre scene actually takes place in Japan. Other commentators have speculated that the buffet is actually a Taiwanese stunt - wouldn’t surprise me in the least. I find it both interesting and amusing that declaring something odd to be from Japan seems to give it an aura of believability in the weird wide world! (A little old but still weird. - via Weird Asia News - naturally!)

You got to hand it to the Japanese, they know how to push the boundaries of taste in a society where redundancy is efficiency. Only in Japan can you eat a live breathing frog, sashimi style…and celebrate Jeffrey Dahmer like it’s 1989.
One of the biggest knocks on Asian Americans is that we don’t support each other in the entertainment industry. We harshly judge our own entertainers for either being too white, too black, and if you can believe it, too Asian. Kollaboration is a platform where young Asian Americans can perform infront of a live crowd. This show will open the minds of those who don’t give Asian Americans a chance when it comes to expressing themselves creatively. And hopefully, through it, we can witness a new type of Asian American artform we can claim as our own.
Date is set at FEB 23, 2008 at the THE ORPHEUM THEATRE.

Seriously: A rock band made up of four young men from Diamond Bar, California (Philip Park, 18; Chris Pham,18; Josh Baek, 21 and Alex Yi, 18), the guys of Seriously began playing together in a local church. Seriously was put together to compete in LA’s premier Asian American talent show, Kollaboration in 2006 where they won the Grand Prize with their song, “Irony”. Since their winning performance at Kollaboration, they were signed by Woody Pak, CEO/ producer of Chaos Theory Music and produced by Woody Pak and wife, Gloria Lee, to record an EP showing off their talent for melanchology yet fresh songwriting. Seriously’s music blends hints of K-pop (aka Korean pop music), Brit-pop and American rock, and their songs display a signature melancholy-hued optimism with raw honesty.
